While I understand the consequences of injecting a large amount of gold into the economy in a short interval, I don't see the problem with making books retroactive for faction only.

So every mission that you've done you would get credit for when you receive faction for turning the book in, but you would not get credit for when you receive the gold.

I'd love both - but if money doesn't happen, I'll more then gladly take faction only since that's what I am after.

I do wonder though if they are keeping track when a character did the missions.

been suggested before i'm pretty sure, but the amount of money into the economy would devastate its already dead state. all we need is more chaos gloves. -_-

faction, maybe, but who cares, of you really want the max title, you'll probably play enough to get it anyway

Give it up people, it's not happening. At this point, it would be absolutely impossible for ANet to know who finished the missions before the update, and hence who should get bonus storybook pages. There is zero reason why they should have saved the date and time that you first finished a particular mission.

this seems like a waste of anet's time and energy. while it would be nice i'm not gonna moan about it. for most people they could have done the books over again and gotten the gold and faction in the time they have spent complaining about it.

There are a lot of things I would have like to have seen retroactive. A lot.

It happens a lot when they are developing as they go. Nothing that can really be done about it.

That's why we're wondering if they are keeping track or has the ship sailed already.

Well how did we get the free faction on chars that finished the The Eternal Grove or Gyala Hatchery?
